Spanish on Tour through Costa Rica: Español en la Ciudad, en el Bosque y en la Playa Our two weeks Language Course on Tour gives you the possibility to combine Spanish lessons and an ecotouristic tour – as well to know wonderful Pacific beaches. We give you a real insight view to our country, you will get to know the fascinating nature, the Latin-American culture and at the same time you get a high quality language course taught by native speakers. Here in Costa Rica you, will listen and speak authentic Spanish and we want to put you into situations, where you can use your new knowledge right away. The course material and method is communicative, so it is prepared especially for this kind of learning. At the beginning and at the end of the course, you will stay three days at our Guesthouse El Marañón, to start, remember or complete your Spanish knowledge. On the fourth day you will travel to the following place: Hojancha on the Nicoya peninsula and to the Pacific Ocean to Puerto Carillo. You will stay in a ecological project, managed by the community of Hojancha. So you will automatically take part in daily life of the Costaricans. You will get to know tropical rain-, dry- and cloud forest, the active volcano Poás with one of the biggest crater of the world, impressive rivers and waterfalls and the tremendous palm beaches at the Pacific coast. You will have teacher and tour guide in one: She or he has long experience in both areas and gladly wants to share her or his knowledge of the Spanish language and of the Costarican culture with you. Topics could be culture, nature, ecology, history or politics. Our purpose is to you to speak often and thus learn faster. On 10 days you will get 4 lessons of Spanish classes and on 12 days you get the opportunity to practice your Spanish in authentic situations! Program: Sunday: arrival in San José and stay your first night in our Guesthouse El Marañón, beautiful situated 15 km outside of San José in Ciudad Colón located in a tropical garden with a great view over the Central Valley and to the Poás volcano. Monday: start your first lesson at 9 a.m. The teacher will get an impression of the Spanish knowledge of his students and will discuss the topics for the next 2 weeks. The afternoon is free for individual activities such as visiting Ciudad Colón, money change, hiking through the mountains to coffee plantations or just relax in our garden in a hammock. Tuesday: in the morning Spanish classes, in the afternoon visit of the capital San José. Wednesday: stay at the Universidad para la Paz. Visit of the peace monument and continue with the Spanish lessons in the park in front of it. In the afternoon free time for hiking or horseback riding in the dry forest reserve El Rodeo. Thursday: Travel to Hojancha on peninsula Nicoya after classes in the morning, as the direct bus leaves at noon from San José. Drive through the Central Valley westwards to the Pacific Ocean near Puntarenas and keep on to cross over Rio Tempisque. Continue to Hojancha into forest reserve Monte Alto, a community project: A farmers cooperative is saving the forest and is bringing back wildlife to the surrounding hills, to save the water supply of the town as well as for many species living in the area of Rio Nosara. Accommodation in the beautiful located lodge. Friday: Lessons will take place inmid of the Rain forest and in the afternoon we ´ll visit the local school to practice our Spanish with the kids - they learn English from first grade on! Saturday: starts with a biological guided and bird watching tour on the trails (also an orchid trail) of the reserve. In the afternoon possibility to visit Teak, Melina and Pochote plantations. Sunday: In the morning we continue clases and around noon we travel to Puerto Carillo with its tremendous palm beach: Vamos a la playa!. 2. Woche Monday and Tuesday: Continue with the lessons in the early morning to have time for individual activities on the beach. Wednesday: trip to Nicoya to see the old colonial church and the typical park before we get back to San José. Thursday: back in San Jose guided visit of the National Museum of Costa Rica. Friday: we will celebrate a dinner. Saturday: you will return to your home.
