Restaurant-Café-Bar-Gallery El Aguacate

El Aguacate, the avocado fruit, is one of the main ingredients of our cuisine, which combines the typical components of Costarican dishes with international influences into a Nueva Cocina Costarricense. Tortilla Pie, Cream Soup of Green Bananas, Sweet Potatoes al Pesto, Tilapia with tamarind and coco sauce, palm heart salad and beefsteak with sauce of coffee are some of our specialties. Just look at our menu!

You can also enjoy first class coffee and cheese cake on our restaurant terrace in the shade of the big avocado tree and look at the exhibition of Costarican art (and buy a picture, if you wish). Every Friday night you also have the opportunity of listening to a native singer or poet.

Just below our restaurant, in the garden, there is an open seminar room, where groups up to 70 people can have their meetings and meditations. Our agency is prepared to organize such sessions.

At our Caribbean Bar you find a roof painting by Hernan Arèvalo, an authentic contribution to the contemporary art of our country.

Hot Entrees
    1. Colorful and delicious Aztec soup:
    Made with the best tomatoes from our region, served with avocado, fried tortillas, small onions, cilantro and cheese. A gift of the Gods.

    2. Pumpkin cream:

    Exquisite cream perfumed with ginger, done with pumpkin cultivated in the land of Alajuela.

    3. Green banana cream:
    There is no more perfect combination than the flavor of the green banana with the grass of cilantro, a very “Tica” and flavorful recipe.

    4. Sweet potatoes with pesto:
    Fresh basil, virgin olive oil, parmesan and nuts, an Italian invention.

Cold Entrees

    5. Salad of avocado:
    In a bed of fresh Roman lettuce and onion, the avocado dances in a sweet dressing.

    6. Salad with orange and sesame:
    Fresh palm hearts, chili peppers, lettuce and carrots, a dressing of orange and flavorful toasted sesame.

    7. Stuffed avocado with basil sauce:
    This wonderful fruit, stuffed with sweet maize, tomato and onion, covered with a flavorful sauce of basil.

    8. Cucumber salad with peppermint sauce:
    Fresh cucumbers marinated with light yogurt dressing, served with slices of bread.

Main dishes
    9. Stuffed Chili pepper roasted with goat cheese and species:
    Exquisite red, chili peppers stuffed with flavorful goat cheese, served with tomato salsa, rice and salad.

    10. Tortilla pie with Chile Morrón and vegetables:
    An exquisite pie with the flavor of the tomato, vegetables, chili peppers and accompanied with delicious cheese and green salad.

    11. Delicious pasta with tomato sauce and green pepper:

    A very traditional recipe but with the green secret ingredient.

    12. Tilapia with coconut and tamarindo sauce:
    Delicious fresh water fish served with a magical and tropical sauce, accompanied by mashed potatoes and vegetables.

    13. Fish with nuts:

    An original way to prepare our fish with the magic of cashew and almond. Taste it accompanied with rice and vegetables.

    14. Chicken in peanut sauce:
    Served with mix vegetables, mashed potatoes and delicious sauce of peanuts.

    15. Chicken in mango sauce:
    Prepared with best mangoes of the country, unique, delicious, served with white and green rice.

    16. Tenderloin steak in sauce of fungi:
    A flavorful sauce with mushrooms, perfect if you are hungry, served with potatoes and vegetables.

    17. Beefsteak in sauce of coffee:
    Very flavorful sauce prepared with our organic coffee, to enjoy the vegetables to the maximum, served with rice.

    18. Vegetables in sauce of nuts:
    Broccoli, small zucchinis and carrot, with a special sauce of nuts served with fresh rice.

    19. Rice and beans with chicken or fish:
    A Caribbean flavor, cooked with Coconut milk.

    20. Sauce of avocado and Chile chipotle:
    You can order it on chicken or fish, with an exquisite color and flavor. Served with salad and rice.

    21. Breaded shrimp with coconut:
    Juicy shrimp grated with coconut, served with green vegetables.
